Before partnering with Doneverse, Benjamin was running his online continuing education business almost entirely by himself, handling graphic design, website updates, email flows, Shopify maintenance, and marketing execution on top of the actual work of leading the business. He had tried hiring virtual assistants twice before, but both times the burden of training them from scratch fell entirely on him, which added more to his plate rather than reducing it. He had also worked with marketing agencies, and while the quality was generally good, the cost put his personal income at genuine risk. He had tried AI tools, automations, and integrations, and while some saved a little time, he spent roughly the same amount of time setting them up. He describes the cumulative effect as spending years in chaos mode, knowing something needed to change but not having the resources or time to make it happen.
Everything shifted with the very first project he handed to his Doer.
Benjamin pointed to a backlog of Shopify fixes that had been bothering him for some time but never making it to the top of his list. He described the end result he wanted, left his Doer to figure out the how, and within roughly 10 days it was done. He calculated that the same scope of work would have cost more than double what he pays for a full month of his Doer’s time if he had outsourced it project by project. From there, his Doer took on ongoing website work, graphic updates, email welcome flows, and SEO tasks, covering the full range of execution work that Benjamin had previously been doing himself or leaving undone when more urgent things came up.
Behind the scenes, what stood out to Benjamin early on was how straightforward the communication was. His Doer’s English was near-perfect, response times were fast, and the back-and-forth felt nothing like the previous VA experiences that had stalled out. Doneverse’s training meant Benjamin did not have to rebuild from scratch each time something new came up. He still invested time early on teaching his Doer the context and thinking behind the business, but the technical groundwork was already there. The onboarding resources were available to him throughout, and he acknowledges he could have used them more fully at the start.
The most concrete marker of what changed for Benjamin was a course he had been meaning to build for two to three years and never found the time to start. After getting his Doer, it was completed within weeks. More broadly, his business now presents with a level of consistency it did not have before: the emails are right, the graphics are right, the SEO details are handled, and the things that previously went undone because more pressing issues came up are now getting done. He describes the shift as going from doing all the rowing himself to actually steering the ship, and says it has started to change how he sees his role and where he wants to take the business in the years ahead.
